I spent about three hours in the labs on Friday working on my online portfolio. It took me far more time to do the work on building the site than on writing the material I have put up thus far. I didn't have any of my material electronically so I spent a good deal of time scanning my material and then fixing it up in photoshop. When all that was finally done I started to work on the website layout. It was a relief when I finally got to start writing the content! I still have a good bit of work ahead of me but several of my pages are nearly complete!
if you'd like to take a look at the progress so far: http://community.wvu.edu/~lkj001/pweportfolio/intro.html
The pages I have worked on are the "Miscellaneous" page and the "events" page. I know some of the links/text are not parrallel to the style I want. I also know I need to go in and increase the size of my background quite a bit, as they cut off on some pages where I have more text. But, its a start, and a start means I'm that much closer to the end!

You've done an amazing job thus far on the portfolio. I haven't even started yet, ahhh! I have been so busy with finishing up my other classes, it has kind of been on the backburner. Plus, I'm having trouble finding time to make it to a lab to do the work since the times I've gotten from Dr. Wible don't fit into my schedule. Which lab did you do work in? Well, yours looks great so far, keep up the work!
emily,
I worked in the computer lab in white hall. That lab seems to be pretty dead this week. I've been in there from roughly 9AM-12PM last Thursday, Friday, and today and there were PLENTY of computers open. All the computers have dreamweaver and photoshop which are primarily what I have been using on my portfolio. They also have adobe professional (not just adobe reader! be careful because if you dont tell it to open adobe professional it does use reader!!!) though for anyone working with PDFs.
I'm not sure how long the lab is open. I think till 8:30 or 9:00PM?
Thanks for the sneak preview, Lindsey! Your analysis is sharp, you've made smart decisions in terms of displaying a variety of materials, your organizational strategy is straightforward and clear, and you've done a nice job presenting your materials as PDFs.
